Diving Into Our Workshop: DDD for Management
At Apium Academy, we are now offering a new workshop called DDD for Management that is aimed at IT managers who may not have hands-on experience in the field of development but are eager to learn. The DDD for Management workshop is 100% theoretical, no katas or practical exercises are performed.
In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the role of IT managers has become increasingly complex. As technological advancements continue to shape the business landscape, the need for a strategic, adaptive approach to system design is more critical than ever. Enter Domain-Driven Design (DDD), a methodology that transcends conventional practices, offering IT managers a powerful toolkit for navigating complexity and driving innovation.
The importance of DDD for IT managers lies in its ability to bridge the gap between technical intricacies and business goals. By centering strategies around the inherent complexities of the business domain, DDD empowers IT managers to create solutions that are not only technically robust but also strategically aligned.
DDD for Management: Advantages for IT Managers
Strategic Alignment:
DDD equips managers with a framework to align IT strategies directly with the intricacies of their business domain. This ensures that technological solutions are not only robust but strategically aligned, fostering a holistic and collaborative approach to decision-making.
Innovative Problem Solving:
DDD encourages a mindset shift towards innovative problem-solving. By understanding and modeling business domains, managers can identify opportunities for innovation, resulting in more creative and effective solutions to complex challenges within their managerial responsibilities.
Enhanced Communication and Collaboration:
DDD promotes a common language between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Managers adopting DDD gain the ability to facilitate effective communication and collaboration, bridging the gap between development teams and business units for smoother and more efficient project execution.
DDD for Management: Workshop Topics
The DDD for Management workshop is crafted to provide a comprehensive understanding of crucial concepts in software design and development. From exploring the benefits of modularity to understanding alternatives to Domain-Driven Design, and exploring patterns like the Domain Model and the Anemic Domain Model, design principles, application and infrastructure services, and more.
DDD for Management: Instructor
The instructor in charge of this workshop is Christian Ciceri, software architect and cofounder of Apiumhub, the software development hub based in Barcelona. Christian is also a public speaker and coauthor of the book “Software Architecture Metrics” together with leaders in the industry including Neal Ford, Andrew Harmel-Law, Dave Farley, Carola Lilienthal, Michael Keeling, Alexander von Zitzewitz, Joao Rosa, Rene Weib and Eoin Woods.
